Be safety wise and win
Friday, July 10th, 2009Sure, safe work is legislated but, isn’t it preferable to show an interest in your staff’s wellbeing? It’s clear that safe work contributes to a profitable workplace and there is a good return on introducing a safe work attitude.
Businesses that have embraced an attitude disposed toward workplace safety, will have fixed workplace warning signs around the worksite. Safety signs are placed strategically because of an assessed risk and do need to be noticed. At understood hazard hot spots, the necessary health and safety signs need to be affixed to remind, prompt and guide employee’s awareness toward being safer at work.
Preventing injuries to workers is the focus of a safety culture in the workplace. For staff it means they will have improved health and for the company it’s been demonstrated to be better as well.
Progressive organizations act to improve the wellbeing of their team and workplace safety programs are just one of ways this can be achieved. Most serious of all health and safety signs are those with the word danger within the printed message.
Management of risks in these areas is a certainty if you work in that work space.
Wherever there is a danger sign, supporting obey signs related to safe behaviors and necessary equipment may be installed . Collectively they enable the message of both workplace caution and danger signs advising of exactly how to behave there, and what personal protection equipment MUST be used. Failure to act on an obey signs content increases the chance of injury or death associated with the danger within that locality. Following standards, these obey signs are in blue and make extensive use of pictograms showing the required, obligatory action.
And, should there be an incident such as a fire or injury the emergency signs in green mark exit pathways, fire appliances and first aid supplies.
Creating a culture of safety within a workplace is a good outlay.
